If you’re looking to increase your Gambit Infamy Rank in Destiny 2, then you’ve come to the right place!
Developed by Bungie, Destiny 2 is a well-known looter-shoot game. If you’re a fan of Bungie games, you’ll also know they created the Halo series, too

This game contains an MMO RPG style where users can select from three different classes.
Here, they are able to warm various exotics and equipment that can then be used to personalize your character, otherwise known as Guardian.
Moreover, you can also rank up your character by successfully completing Crucible, Nightfall, and many different events.
Since its initial release, new content has consistently been introduced by Bungie in the form of seasonal updates and DLCs.
The introduction of new seasons also brought new activities which are connected to in-game vendors. Hence, these vendors are used by players to increase their ranks by accessing different activities.
With each new season, users are able to participate in the Crucible, Vanguard, and Gambit playlists to improve their relationship with the particular vendor and gain some impressive rewards.
When the season ends, your progress will reset, too. This allows for new and improved rewards to be introduced in the next seasons.
Likewise, to access Gambit Infamy Rewards, players have to increase their Gambit rank. The Drifter offers analysis and directs Gambits, as well as organizing matches.
Hence, players are able to collect and earn rank points by participating in activities and matches contributed by The Drifter.
With this in mind, this article will explore everything you need to know about how to increase your Gambit Infamy Rank.
Let’s get straight into it!
What Are Gambit Infamy Ranks?
In Destiny 2, there are a total of Sixteen Gambit Infamy Ranks to achieve. To ascend to the next level, players are required to earn a specific amount of gambit points.
Once achieved, the player is able to talk with The Drifter to receive the rewards associated with the rank-up.
You can find The Drifter at the Tower Annex, which represents the Gambit itself.
To collect new items from The Drifter, players need to take part in different Gambit trials during the season which helps earn a higher Gambit Rank.
Essentially, the higher rank a player achieves, the better rewards they will receive.
Once you reach the max Rank, players no longer have to worry about manually resetting their Gambit Ranks. Rather, it automatically resets for you – once the last rewards from The Drifter are collected.
By resetting their Gambit Rank, players are able to continue to earn rank-up rewards, with a few of the incentives differing from the initial season completion.
Totally Points Required To Rank Up
Gambit puts two opposing teams against the minions of Darkness, however, there is a twist; each team is able to send one player to disrupt and invade the opposing team.
By completing bounties and matches, players are able to earn points towards their Infamy rank which can be accessed through The Drifter.
Users are also able to earn gambit points by completing gambit matches. Taking part in back-to-back gambit matches provides users with an activity streak of a level up to 5.
The higher the activity streak, the more points you are able to earn. Although, you should keep in mind that taking part in a new activity will reset your streak – losing your progress.
A player is able to reset their Rank to zero once they have gathered 15,000 Infamy points. During a particular season, users can reset as many times as they like.
Just keep in mind that by the end of a season, all Ranks and points are set back to zero.
Destiny 2 Gambit Ranks
If you’re looking to reset your progress within a season, you’ll need to know what you’re getting yourself into. It is a much different process than ranking up the Vanguard, for instance.
Instead, it requires much more time and is a lot harder than killing a few bounties occasionally.
Primarily, you’ll need to familiarize yourself with the Infamy ranks, this ensures you know where you are at the table.
Within the ranking system, there are five divisions (or 6 if you’re counting the max rank), and you need to collect 10,000 Infamy points before reaching the pinnacle (before the latest change you need to collect 15,000).
Below, you will find the different Destiny 2’s Gambit ranks:
- Guardian I: 0-50 (50 to rank up)
- Guardian II: 50-125 (75 to rank up)
- Guardian III: 125-250 (125 to rank up)
- Brave I: 250-500 (250 to rank up)
- Brave II: 500-950 (450 to rank up)
- Brave III: 950-1,550 (600 to rank up)
- Heroic I: 1,550-1,925 (375 to rank up)
- Heroic II: 1,925-2,525 (600 to rank up)
- Heroic III: 2,525-3,350 (825 to rank up)
- Fabled I: 3,350-3,875 (525 to rank up)
- Fabled II: 3,875-4,650 (772 to rank up)
- Fabled III: 4,650-5,700 (1,050 to rank up)
- Mythic I: 5,700-6,450 (750 to rank up)
- Mythic II: 6,450-7,525 (1,075 to rank up)
- Mythic III: 7,525-9,000 (1,475 to rank up)
- Legend: 9,000-10,000 (1,000 to rank up)
- Max Rank: 10,000
Once you have reached max reputation, you can meet with The Drifter at the Tower to reset your ranks.
What Are Infamy Rewards?
Users to take part in Gambit will earn Infamy – a ranking system that relies on progression and awards players points after completing matches. Here, any Gambit match will provide players with Infamy points.
Although, you’ll earn substantially more points by winning.
Plus, by gaining Infamy, players will also be provided access to Gambit-specific equipment and weapons.
By increasing their Infamy, players are able to earn emblems, ornaments, and weaponry. In addition, every time a player advances to a new tier, a Gambit engram is awarded.
Depending on a player’s specific Infamy level, determines what products you’ll receive from The Drifter.
Hence, some awards require a specific rank, while others may require a specific amount of Infamy rank resets.
How To Increase Your Gambit Infamy Rank?
Increasing your Gambit Infamy Rank is super simple: all you have to do is play Gambit! Don’t worry, you won’t even lose any points if you happen to suffer a defeat – so it is a somewhat stress-free process!

Although, if you’re looking to quickly increase your Infamy rank, then there are a few simple things you can do to help you do so.

Win Gambit Matches

Activity Streaks
This is similar to a winning streak, however, it isn’t solely dependent on winning games. All you have to do is queue into Gambit uninterrupted, and you’ll be raking up points before long!
Double Infamy Weeks
Occasionally, players can take part in Double Infamy weeks. These are well worth keeping an eye on!
