In this post, we’ve listed all the ways you can obtain Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2. If you need help obtaining this critical material, keep reading!
What Are Enhancement Cores In Destiny 2?
Before we look at how you can obtain Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2, it is important that you understand exactly what they are and why they are important.
Enhancement Cores are an upgrade material that’s needed to craft and upgrade weapons, armor, and Ghost Shells. The material can even be used to upgrade modules that are used to combine gear with another item.
Without Enhancement Cores, it is impossible to upgrade and build weapons and armor to Masterwork quality. If you hope to be successful in combat, you have to collect a large number of these cores.
When it comes to appearance, Enhancement Cores look like small golden gems.
How Do You Obtain Enhancement Cores In Destiny 2?
Now you know more about what Enhancement Cores are, let’s look at how you can go about getting them.
You’ll be pleased to hear that Destiny 2 players can obtain Enhancement Cores in many ways, ranging from playing specific activities to dismantling gear.
In the next part of this post, we’ve listed all the ways you can obtain Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2. Let’s take a look, shall we?
One of the easiest ways to obtain Destiny 2’s Enhancement Cores is by dismantling gear. Any weapon that is at least tier four will provide you with a core when you dismantled it. It really is as simple as that.
The higher the tier of the weapon, the more cores you’ll receive when dismantling it. This method could leave you with 1 to 7 cores from a single weapon.
To receive 7 Enhancement Cores through the dismantling of weapons, you have to dismantle a Masterwork weapon. Dismantling armor will also give you Enhancement Cores. Again, the higher the tier, the more cores you’ll receive.
With armor, you can expect to receive 1 core from a tier 7 weapon and 7 from a tier 10. Based on their tier, Ghost Shells can also be dismantled for up to 4 Enhancement Cores.
Destiny 2 players can also obtain Enhancement Cores by simply playing the game. By completing daily bounties, you can receive the cores you need to upgrade your weapons and armor.
In particular, Banshee-44’s daily bounties will give you Enhancement Cores once completed. No matter what type of bounty you complete, you will receive 1 Enhancement Core.
This is a great way to obtain Enhancement Cores because you get to play the game and put your skills to the test. It’s also pretty great because daily bounties are super easy.
Most of the time, you just have to land a certain amount of kills using a specified weapon. Better still, bounties can be completed daily with each character.
Another one of the easiest ways to obtain Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2 is by completing activities. This is another fantastic method as it allows you to get on with playing the game.
One of the best things you can do is equip the Lesser Core Harvest mod to a Ghost Shell. It is worth noting that the mod only works with Masterworked Ghost Shells.
These mods then allow you to complete Nightfalls, strikes, Gambit, and Crucible matches to earn Enhancement Cores. You’ll receive Enhancement Cores by eliminating Guardians or bosses.
To quickly and effectively farm Enhancement Cores, pick between Hero-tier Nightfalls, Adept, Legend and Master-tier Lost Sectors, and Empire Hunts.
If you’re on the hunt for Enhancement Cores, Hero Nightfalls would be the best choice. They take the least amount of time and require minimal modifiers.
Enhancement Cores can be obtained in Destiny 2 by increasing your reputation. Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard Strikes, will reward you with Enhancement Cores as you improve your rank.
Savathun’s Throne World planetary vendor, Fynch, will also reward you with cores when you reach the required rank. You can improve your reputation and ranks by completing activities.
The more activities you complete for a vendor, the more they will reward you. Earn enough reputation with a vendor and your rank will rise. With every rank, the rewards get sweeter.
Rewards can be anything from Masterwork materials to cosmetics. One of the rewards you should look out for most is the Enhancement Cores. When you rank up for the first time, a vendor will give you 3 cores.
The next method might not be the most exciting but it is probably the simplest. All you need to casually farm Enhancement Cores are three characters and a rank-four clan. The characters don’t have to be high-level either.
Once you have both of those, all you have to do is the clan weekly. After that, speak to Hawthorne. You’ll be given 7 Enhancement Cores for each character.
When completed three times, you’ll receive 21 cores. You can do this every week with very little effort. Complete the weekly task by collecting Clan XP. To earn XP finish activities found on the Director.
You’ll require 5,000 XP to complete the challenge. Crucible and Vanguard Strikes take a lot longer to complete.
If you’re not satisfied with 21 Enhancement Cores every week, hardcore farming might be better for you instead. When done effectively, hardcore farming can earn you 12 Enhancement Cores every day.
To do this method, you have to be willing to work hard for it. You have to complete your daily banshee44 before heading to the Legendary Lost Sector. You can then farm the Lost Sector using load-outs that meet the bounty requirements.
When you’ve finished all the bounties, change to a different character. On their own, the bounties will reward you with 4 cores for each character. If you do this for each of your three characters, you’ll receive 12 cores.
If you do this farming every day, you’ll earn yourself a whopping 84 Enhancement Cores a week. We don’t know about you but we think that’s pretty good.
Moving away from farming methods, a great way to obtain Enhancement Cores quickly is by cleaning your vault.
This is something most Destiny 2 players do as it can help you keep on top of your items and give you the cores you need without any hard work. By cleaning your vault, you might find that Legendary or Masterworked gear drops Enhancement Cores.
Linking back to the first method we looked at, dismantling your weapons and armor could see you receive up to 7 Enhancement Cores. Cleaning out your vault is quick, easy, and effective.
When you’ve finished cleaning your vault, you could also use the Matterweave usage method to obtain Enhancement Cores. Exotic and Legendary gear can drop Matterweave when dismantled.
Matterweave is a consumable item that has the ability to spawn Enhancement Cores whenever you eliminate a boss or major. By popping one of these Matterweaves in your itinerary, you could earn more Enhancement Cores as you play the game.
As you can see, simply cleaning your vault can be an excellent way to source Enhancement Cores.
Enhancement Cores are an essential material in Destiny 2. Without the material, players can’t upgrade their weapons or armor, making it harder for them to compete with the best players. Luckily for us, there are many ways we can obtain Enhancement Cores.
In this post, we’ve shown you just how easy it can be to obtain Enhancement Cores by following 8 different methods. Whether you need 1 Enhancement Core or 100, we’ve shown you exactly what to do.
You should now know how to obtain Enhancement Cores effectively. It doesn’t matter how many cores you need, you’ll be able to obtain them by following the right method.
You can now choose the method that suits you best and start collecting Enhancement Cores.
