The Ultimate SMG Loadout For Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 Last Stand Reloaded

When it comes to Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 it all comes down to choosing your weapons wisely. And I’m here to tell you that SMGs are the way to go – particularly the MP40.

Now, I know what you might be thinking, but this gun does not have the best rate of fire.

And you’re not wrong, there are faster flying bullets from other weapon choices, but in terms of bullet velocity and damage abilities at long range, you won’t get better than the MP40.

Providing the correct loadout, it will also have less recoil and you’ll have much better aim.

During season 2 of the game, the MP40 did unfortunately get nerfed somewhat. And while this wasn’t greeted with welcome arms, it certainly hasn’t stopped gamers from using the gun.

Sure the maximum and mid-range damage was decreased, but many other guns fell victim to a similar situation.

And while they may be able to decrease the gun’s power through updates, they cannot decrease the love and popularity that players hold for it near and dear to their hearts.

And the truth of the matter is, that despite the nerf, SMGs still reign supreme in close-range rights, especially, the MP40. And considering that in maps such as Rebirth Island, a close-range fight can be expected at each and every turn, it is the best choice overall.

At least, that is certainly the case with the loadout I’ll share with you today.

How To Unlock The MP40

Okay, so the first thing that you’ll need to do, is actually unlock the gun. It’ll be available to any player from day one as part of the post-launch weapon line as soon as you reach level 16. So you’ll need to get some game time in to actually acquire the gun.

To unlock the gun you’ll need to gain XP and the best way to do this is to stay alive. Yep, pretty simple. The longer you’re in the game the more XP you’ll earn, and the closer you’ll become to gaining that sweet, sweet MP40.

To help you level up faster, the game also provides you with daily and weekly challenges that once completed reward you with more XP.

Once you unlock the gun, you’ll then need to level it up. Thankfully, this doesn’t take very long at all. Once you’ve leveled the gun up enough you’ll have access to the wide range of attachments you can choose from.

And this is the point where I come in, and show you the best and most lethal options to use for your gun.

MP40 Lethal Loadout

I’ve played around with plenty of different attachments on this gun, some have worked fantastically, and some have been downright horrible.

So, to save you from making the same mistakes that I have, I’m going to let you in on my best secret – the key attachments to use to make your MP40 loadout totally lethal.

Here it is:

  • Muzzle – Recoil Booster
  • Barrel – Krausnick 317MM 04B
  • Optic – Krausnick ISO 2M
  • Stock – Krausnick 33M Folding
  • Underbarrel – M19141 Hand Stop
  • Magazine – 7.62 Gorenko 45 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type – Lengthened
  • Rear Grip – Polymer Grip
  • Perk 1 – Brace
  • Perk 2 –  Quick

What Makes This Loadout Lethal

So, what’s so good about this loadout? I hear you ask. Well, I’m about to tell you!

Using this muzzle and barrel together reduces both recoil and the sway that can come with the MP40 while also increasing the range of damage. So you’ve got a better aim and essentially more power.

This optic makes the gun just overall more effective when it comes to close range and the grip means that you’re more stable when aiming. And what can you do better when you can aim better? Get those kills.

The underbarrel again means that you have less recoil and can aim more effectively and then the ammo type ensures that you have a much better bullet velocity.

The brace perk will also improve your accuracy when you fire those first two shots and the quick perk will keep you light and agile.  So you’re left quick and agile, with better mobility and the precise and deadly aim of a long-serving hitman.

And essentially, with this loadout, you’ve turned your submachine gun into a weapon that works aggressively up close and personal, can pick fights like a sniper, and can also win mid-range fights. With this load up you’re basically unstoppable.

Best Equipment & Perks For MP40 Loadout

  • Secondary – Cooper Carbine/ Kar98k
  • Tactical – Stim/Heartbeat Sensor
  • Lethal – Throwing knives/Claymore
  • Perk 1 – QuickFix/E.O.D
  • Perk 2 – Overkill
  • Perk 3 – Amped/Combat Scout

What Makes This Loadout Lethal

If you’re a player that tends to find themselves in non-stop gunfights then you can’t get a much better perk than Quick Fix. This will grant you health generation whenever an enemy is killed. This can come in handy when the fight has been a close call.

Choosing E.O.D is always a good option too as it allows you to take less damage from fire and non-killstreak explosives. And how annoying is it when an explosive is the thing that actually eliminates you?

Overkill is just a no-brainer to me as it allows you to carry an extra weapon.

And an SMG combined with the Kar98k or Cooper Carbine, well you can’t get much more lethal than that. It then means that you’ve got your powerful SMG but also a deadly weapon for long-range gunfights when they occur.

Then, of course, you don’t want to die because it’s taken too long to swap weapons, and that is where the Amped perk comes in.

This lets you swap your weapons at a quicker speed, and should your enemy not have this perk, you’ll have the upper hand on them in a gun-switching duel.

Combat Scout is also a good option as it will highlight the rest of the enemy’s team when a player is shot, which gives you an extra advantage for sneaking up or away from other members of the enemy team.

Stim is a great tactical option to choose as it will give you instant health regeneration. So if you’re close to dying you can give yourself a shot and boost your health.

The heartbeat sensor also helps you to track other players that may be lurking close by and this can give you an advantage in any upcoming gun fights.

Throwing knives can be lethal providing that you have good aim, these will come in real handy when you’re close to dying in close-range gun fights.

Plus if you’ve downed a player you don’t have to waste precious ammo and instead can eliminate the enemy with the throw of a knife. If aim isn’t really your thing then Claymore is definitely the way to go as this allows you to watch flank when stationary.

Final Thoughts

Call me stubborn, or call me correct, but you will not change my mind that the MP40 is without a doubt the best SMG currently in warzone.

And when you combine the loadout mentioned above and pair it with a killer long-distance gun such as the Cooper Carbine or the Kar98k you’re sure to be all but unstoppable.

Sure, the maximum damage has been decreased from 473 to 422, and the mid-range damage from 612 to 600, but don’t let that put you off. This gun is still without a doubt one of the most lethal weapons on the game.

If you really don’t get along with the MP40 you can try the PPsh-41 or the Welgun which will definitely not hold you back from winning those gun fights.

The PPsh-41 has a pretty high-fire rate and has a low time to kill when up close and personal in gunfights and the Welgun is AR/SMG hybrid that does wicked things in terms of hip fire and long range support.

But alas, I do not think that they quite compare to the lethality of this MP40 loadout.

Personally, I really would peservere with the MP40, keep this load out and get used to the gun and you’ll see in no time that you’re getting win, after win, after win. Try it out, ans see how you find it. Best of luck!
